Excellent Machine
This printer is fabulous. I purchased it only today and I am already extremely pleased with the way it's working. It was extremely easy to set up, and to be honest, the task of setting up a wireless printer to two laptops seemed daunting at first. But, as soon as I clicked the CD into the drive and punched the slider into place, a detailed, step-by-step guide popped up on my screen and walked me through the entire process. Even the portion of the setup that had to be done on the actual printer was so simple - the printer showed me what to do! The LCD display is outstanding, the color is great, and I love that the printer comes with two black ink cartridges. The cartridges are overwhelmingly easy to load and are slim and compact. They click easily into place and have a separate loading space underneath the scanner that keeps the cartridges protected from dust, dirt and whatever else could get to it. The printed instructions that came in the box are wonderful, as well. They're very clear and there's a quick-start double-sided printout to get you set up without having to read the entire manual. After you set up, if you want more detailed information and hints to fix any problems that may arise in the future, the booklet contains tons of detailed troubleshooting tips. I could go on and on about the features that this machine possesses that I love, but it would take about another hour to list them all! Two thumbs up, Epson - amazing job!

Easy to hook up. Easy to program as well. Very quick for black & white copies and good for color.
Scanning worked wonderfully. I am just an individual working at home but I do alot of printing, scanning & faxing. Fits my needs great. Money well spent.

Good & Bad
The printer and it's feature is more than perfect.
The bad thing is the very expensive ink cartlidges
which does not remain long enough.
In addition, Once you are out only in one of the five cartliges, The printer stop automatically until you replace it.

13 months after purchase the machine had a printer error. Nothing in the manual that came with the machine helped. called epson customer service who were nice enough to refer me to a repair center since it only carried a 1year warranty. The cost to just look at the machine was more than I paid for it. Very disappointed since we only use the machine for copies and faxes and it wasn't used as a high volume machine. Didn't buy another Epson.

I can't login to EpsoConnect because my WorkForce 520 is not supported any more. Why?
Also, the auto paper feed rollers on the fax/copy are faulty/dry.

Buy other Epson printers.
If you are looking for a printer do not get an Epson Workforce520 All in one printer. I have been buying Epson printers for a while and this is the first printer I have not been satisfied with. I bought it on January 1, 2011. And from the time I started using it it has not been the best. It prints crooked and the ink drips.i did all the test that I was told to do and nothing worked. And the factory warranty is not fair. It starts from the time the printer is built. I should start from the time you buy it. It feels like it is built cheaply. I would buy other Epson printers but not this one.

Workforce 520 is the least expensive workhorse for home/office application w/inexpensive inks that last. Unit works like a charm, kudos to engineering & production team for a well designed problem free workhorse.

DOESN'T DO WHAT THEY SAY
I bought this printer understanding that it would scan to computer/email/documents. It doesn't offer that from the printer. I also understood that it would print in duplicate/both sides. It does not. During installations (3) a warning came up saying that there was a known incompatibility. You should not sell an item that has compatibility issues. The steps given is misleading therefore, I couldn't completely install it until I figured out what the problem was==on 4th try. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Works on my iMac but costs too much to run
It works great with my iMac but you have to go into import from scan twice to see the networked devices.
My only problem with this printer is the dual black ink cartridges. If even one of them is low the whole printer won't work. I have all cartridges but 1 at 100% and nothing will print. It costs too much to operate so I have replaced it. It is too bad because I really liked all the features. Let me know if I am doing something wrong please because it is just in the basement.
